Animal Grooming in the comfort of your own home

Make your pet feel like a star

Having an animal is taking the responsibility to give them at least the basic needs. One of those basic needs is grooming.

The skin, fur, nails and hooves, weight, eyes and teeth. All these body parts are being checked on by me and when possible immediately taken care of. If necessary, I will give you advise on what you can do to improve your animals health as well.

As a qualified veterinarian assistant and working with various animals for over a decade, I acquired a lot of knowledge that i’m eager to share with my clients so we can find together a solution to improve your pets health. However, when an animal needs medical care from a veterinarian, I will be the first to say. Often, i’ve seen small issues grow into large complicated  health issues because the owner rather wanted to wait. In the end both a good animal groomer and a good veterinarian will be your pets best friends.

I can assure you, that I will do my utmost to give your pet the best possible care.

Hoof care for (mini) pigs

Sedation free, painless and with respect

All pigs need hoof care. No matter their size, pigs need proper trimmed hooves. Healthy hooves is a healthy pig, is a happy pig, is a happy me.

When in my hands, I will examine your pigs general well being by doing an ear, eye, teeth and overall body condition check.
I will not just cut back the hooves, I will balance the hooves to the needs of your pig so your pig has proper trimmed hooves to walk on again.

Up to 120 kg, I can flip your pig on his back so no sedation is needed. Is your pig above this weight or does the behavior not allow me to touch the pig? Please, contact me so we can discuss the possibilities for your pig.

Dogs

All sizes

No need to take your dog outside the house. I will come to you so your dog can stay in his/her familiar environment.

Use of clippers & scissors
Long haired pets are very beautiful but also require attention everyday to keep the coat smooth and untangled. If you rather want a worry free coat, I can help you by grooming your dog to a length that suits your lifestyle.
Some common breeds that are groomed with clippers and scissors are:
Bichon frise, Poodle and poodle crosses, Shih Tzu, Malteses, Yorkshire terriers, Brussel Griffons, Lhasa Apso, Schnauzer.

Double coated grooming
Double coated dogs have an ingenieus system. Their undercoat keeps them warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Their topcoat protects them against moisture so they can regulate their core temperature better.
I will try to avoid by all means to shave your double coated dogs as this will ruin the whole purpose of their double coat. Instead I will use special brushes and use the wash and blow dry technique to remove dead hair allowing new healthy hair to grow.
Some common breeds with a double coated fur are:
Golden retrievers, Labrador retrievers, Keeshond, Pomeranian, Shepherds, Husky’s, Collies, Sheep dogs, Mountain dogs.

Stripping
Wiry haired dog breeds  allows their coat to be stripped with the hand. Stripping or plucking is a beautiful technique to remove the old hair and give room for new healthy hair. Whereas shaving these kind of coats won’t remove the old hair but only shortens the hair.
Stripping is more time consuming but the quality and natural look of the coat is more than worth it.  The coat will be fuller with more vibrant colors and a shinier texture. When the coat is ready, it is a painless free technique. Usually, 2 times a year is enough and with some dogs 3-4 times a year.
Some common breeds with wire-haired coats are: Dachshunds, Terriers, Wolfhounds, Pointers, Jack Russels, Cocker Spaniels and Schnauzers.

Bathing
Depending on your dogs breed but also your lifestyle, I will advise you the frequency of bathing your dog. I use products that are not tested on animals, non aggressive, environmental friendly and paraben free.

Breeds of dogs I work with
My main focus is on working dogs such as the The Lagotto Romagnolo, practical haircuts such the Bichon Frise living the farm life,  double coated dogs such as the Shepherd dogs and wiry coats that requires stripping such as terrier dogs.
If you wish to have your dog to be styled with for example a teddy bear cut, I can advise you which groomer would be a good match for you.
